Dr. Kenneth R. Baca
Dr. Kenneth Baca is a resident of Tempe, Arizona and has been Superintendent of Tempe Union High School District since 2011. Before coming to TUHSD he was the Assistant Superintendent for Business Services for Phoenix Elementary School District and had been with that district from 2002 until 2011. Dr. Baca previously served the Phoenix Elementary School District as Director of Assessment, Evaluation and Externally Funded Programs and as principal of the historic Kenilworth School.
Dr. Baca was the Region Assistant to the Associate Superintendent with Albuquerque Public Schools (APS). He also provided oversight for the implementation of the Higher Education Initiative Agreement between the Albuquerque Public Schools and the Office of Civil Rights to reduce the high school drop-out rate, increase the high school graduation rate and improve student academic achievement. In APS, he was a classroom teacher, assistant principal and principal.
Dr. Baca holds degrees from the University of New Mexico including a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Master of Arts in Education, and Education Specialist in Educational Administration. He received his Doctor of Education degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Arizona State University.
