Administrative Assistant    (AA01)

This course is available to students who wish to work with individual staff members to support the educational process.  This service-type credit allows students to develop valuable life skills. [The maximum credit that may be earned for this course is 1.0.  A “P” or “F” grade only will given.
This course is not used in GPA or Rank calculations.]

Volunteer Community Service       (PD21)                
1.0 Cr.  1 Year
This course is designed for students who want to become involved on a volunteer basis in the community. Students volunteer to help in such community areas as schools, hospitals, city services, and other community organizations. Students spend several hours each week in this community effort and will be supervised by the community organization and the teacher-coordinator at the participating high school. Students learn  many related skills including good human relations, service for others, dependability, and regular attendance.
(May be repeated for credit).

Career Exploration    (PD30)         
1.0 Cr.   1 Year
This program provides students an opportunity to earn elective credit while working in a paid position. There are no regular classes to attend, however, career activity assignments may be required to be completed in addition to working on the job. Students will be assigned a teacher coordinator and a satisfactory evaluation form must be completed by the employer. Students may earn 0.5 Credit for each 128 hours worked. Only one full credit may be earned in a single school year. No more than two such credits may be used to meet graduation requirements.   A “P” or “F” grade only will given.  This course is not used in GPA or Rank calculations.]
Prerequisites:  Counselor recommendation and placement by program guidelines.
