Academic Letters will be awarded to the top students at Marcos de Niza High School.  These letters are similar to the athletic letter and will have Academic written on the front.  In order to be awarded to the student, the following criteria must be met:

Sophomores:   A 3.8 cumulative grade point average or be in the top 5% at the end of the 4th semester  
Juniors: A 3.8 cumulative grade point average or be in the top 8% at the end of the 6th semester
Seniors: A 3.8 cumulative grade point average or be in the top 10% of the class at the end of the 7th semester.

1.  Only one letter will be awarded while at Marcos de Niza High School.
2.  The student must make a written application to the Principal for this award with a copy of his / her transcript attached  for verification.

Students are considered to be on the Principal's Honor Roll if they have a G.P.A. of 3.8 or above each semester.

Students are considered to be on the Honor Roll if they have a G.P.A. of 3.5-3.79 each semester.

Padre Renaissance is an incentive program that recognizes students for academic excellence, exemplary behavior and good attendance.  It rewards students with prizes and invitations to special events.  The program also sponsors the Vic Sanchez Scholarship Award, named after a past MdN principal who left a legacy of pride and respect. 

Students who have earned scholarships during the year are recognized at an evening award ceremony in May.

Students who meet specific criteria are recognized on the Wall of Fame.
