Questions Most Asked by Students and Parents:

1. When and where do we get our schedules?
Your official schedule will be given out the first day of school. An unofficial schedule (subject to change) will be given out at the time of book distribution.

2. Can I rent a musical instrument?
The school provides the large instruments used in bands. Students can rent other instruments through privately owned stores.

3. How do I get excused from school if I am ill?
If you are absent from school, your parents must call the school by 11:00 a.m. on the day of the absence, no attendance changes will be made after 48 hours. The attendance telephone number for freshmen and sophomores is 730-7659 and for juniors and seniors 730-7658. The number is available 24 hours a day.

4. How do I get assignments if I am out due to illness?
You must be absent three consecutive days before making a homework request. To request assignments, if you are a freshman or sophomore have your parents call 730-7659 and if you are a junior or senior call 730-7658.
The assignments will be obtained from your teachers and can be picked up at the school office. Please give teachers 24 hours notice.

5. Will there be someone at the high school that can help me with schedule planning?
Your counselor will work with you during your four years of high school. You may call or stop by the guidance office anytime to make an appointment with your counselor.

6. How do I sign up for summer school?
Summer school is operated through the Special Services Department at our district office. Registration is conducted through each campus. Applications become available in March. Call 752-3468 to inquire about the registration process. There are two summer sessions. The first session starts a week after school ends. Each session runs 15 days. Summer school is Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis.

7. What courses are offered in summer school?
The courses offered are based on enrollment in each course. Generally the following are offered: all required courses in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Physical Education. The courses in the elective areas may vary. Generally Driver Education (must be 15 years and 7 months of age), Computer Applications and Spanish 1-2, 3-4 are offered. No Honors or Communications courses are offered. Some courses may have prerequisites; others are not open to incoming freshmen.

8. What is the cost of summer school and is transportation available?
Each session costs approximately $135.00 and must be paid in full at the time of registration. Bus transportation is provided for a fee of approximately $25.00 per session. The student is picked up at their home school and transported to the summer school site.
